The Right Stuff

CompSol launched RELAY EMS, an emergency medical and ambulance service for the Nelson Mandela Metro.

In the same way that CompSol filled a gap in the workman's compensation sector, its latest addition RELAY EMS is providing a valuable service in the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan area and surrounds. Richard Moodie, a RELAY EMS founder and head paramedic, says that Port Elizabeth's latest emergency medical and ambulance service was well-geared to fill a gap in the area.

"The industry is facing some challenges. Outside of the larger well-known brands, we're increasingly seeing a drop in standards due to qualified paramedics emigrating and, with shortages of staff, many being forced to work unacceptably long shifts. The investment needed to purchase and maintain quality equipment and vehicles is also a barrier to providing the levels of service that life-threatening situations demand. The challenge for RELAY EMS was to get it right."

From the start, the RELAY EMS approach was uncompromising and formed the basis of what became a positioning statement of the RIGHT people, with the RIGHT training, using the RIGHT equipment to provide the RIGHT responses.

Richard believes that RELAY EMS has achieved what it set out to do.

"When you're dealing with life or death situations, you have to get it right!"

Step 1 - Employer logs an injury on the CompSol system.Step 2 - Medical service providers are notified about the injured employee.Step 3 - Medical service provider logs all details on CompSol system and gets paid.
